Behind the Scenes at the Railway
Come and see “behind the scenes” at Bo’ness & Kinneil Railway. See our locos, carriages and wagons, many of which are not on public display, being restored by our skilled volunteers. Hear strange tales of railways long ago.
Conducted tours of groups of up to 10 persons lasting 11/2hours are offered on Tuesdays at 10.30 starting from the historic waiting room at Bo’ness station. The tour will take you to see steam and diesel locomotives some of which may not have been seen by our visitors for half a century! And carriages from the Victorian times.
The charge for the tour, at an introductory discount, is £8, inclusive of entry to the museum. You must be at least 12 years old. There is no upper age limit, but you must be able to walk for about a mile without difficulty, and be able to negotiate rough ground and trip hazards with ease. There are no rest points or toilets on the tour until the museum.
The tours can be booked online through this website or in person on the day (subject to availability) at the Bo’ness station booking office.
