Steam Driver Experience
Take control of one of our steam locomotives! Experience the thrill of the sights, sounds, smell, and heat of the footplate as you drive and fire the locomotive for almost 20 miles. You will be looked after by our expert and highly experienced engine crews who will ensure you are ready for the highlight of your experience – being in control of a steam locomotive.
Included in the cost of your experience is:
- Locomotive briefing on a cold (out of steam) locomotive
- 10 miles driving and 10 miles firing a steam locomotive with a train of carriages between Bo’ness & Manuel
- Buffet lunch with tea & coffee for you and up to two guests (extra guests can be added for £10pp).
2025 driver experiences are expected to use newly restored BR Standard Tank No. 80105, owned by Locomotive Owners Group (Scotland) Limited.
